FAQ
Common questions about how Flux works, what it includes, and how to get the most out of it.
Getting started
Do I need to log in with LinkedIn?
No. Flux analyzes publicly visible posts only. There is no OAuth flow, no password sharing, and no Chrome extension required. You paste a profile URL — yours, a client's, or anyone's public profile — and Flux does the rest.
How do I create an account?
Subscribe on the pricing page. Enter a LinkedIn profile URL and complete checkout. Flux creates your account automatically and emails you a magic link. There is no separate sign-up form.
How long does the initial data pull take?
Most profiles are ready in 1–3 minutes. Profiles with thousands of posts may take longer. You can close the tab — Flux emails you when your dashboard is ready.
What if my profile URL doesn't work?
Flux accepts standard LinkedIn profile links (linkedin.com/in/yourname). It strips trailing slashes, locale prefixes, and query parameters automatically, so any copy-paste from your browser should work. If the profile is private or doesn't exist, you're refunded automatically.
Data and refresh
How far back does my post history go?
Flux pulls your complete post history — there is no one-year cap. Most accounts have roughly a year of data at signup, but Flux doesn't enforce a cutoff date.
How often does my data update?
Every day on all paid plans. Flux runs a nightly scrape that picks up new posts and updated engagement counts. Check Settings → Your Plan to see when the last and next refresh are scheduled.
Why do my engagement counts sometimes change?
LinkedIn updates engagement counts over time as reactions come in. Each nightly scrape updates counts for recent posts, so a post from last week may show a higher engagement count today than it did when you first saw it.
Does Flux track reposts or quote posts?
No. Reposts and quote posts are excluded from all calculations — charts, KPI cards, and exports reflect original posts only.
Plans and billing
What's the difference between Pulse and Edge?
Pulse ($3/mo or $30/yr) covers all descriptive analytics: the full dashboard, charts, heatmap, top posts, weekly digest, export, and daily refresh.
Edge ($10/mo or $100/yr) adds the intelligence layer: post score prediction, Score My Post, Explore (semantic search), MCP/API access, multi-profile tracking, and the Data API.
See Plans & Pricing for a full breakdown.
Can I upgrade from Pulse to Edge without re-entering payment?
Yes. From Settings, click Upgrade to Edge. A dialog shows the proration — unused Pulse time is credited against your first Edge invoice. Confirm to apply the upgrade immediately.
What happens to my data if I cancel?
Your dashboard stays accessible with data as of your last scrape. Flux does not delete your data when you cancel.
Can I get a refund?
If Flux can't pull your data because the profile is private, you're refunded automatically. For any other reason, contact support within 7 days of your charge for a full refund.
Dashboard and features
What do the date range pills do?
The pills (30d / 90d / 6mo / 1yr / All) filter every chart on the dashboard simultaneously. "All" covers your entire post history.
What is Growth-adjusted mode?
It normalizes your engagement metrics for follower growth, so a post from 2020 and a post from 2024 are compared fairly. This toggle only appears on Edge plans with enough posting history for the model to run.
What is the Projected heatmap view?
The heatmap has two modes: Actual (your raw historical data aggregated by day and hour) and Projected (a time-aware smoothed estimate that fills in gaps using posts from similar hours and days). The Projected view is useful when you have sparse data in certain slots. See Timing Insights for details.
Why is a heatmap cell grayed out?
Grayed cells have no post data for that day/hour combination. In Actual mode, this means you've never posted during that slot. Switch to Projected view to see smoothed estimates.
Can I filter Top Posts by a specific time slot?
Yes. Click any cell in the heatmap to filter the Top Posts table to only posts published during that day and hour.
Score My Post
How accurate is the post score?
The model is trained on your last ~200 posts and calibrated to your specific audience. The star rating tells you where a draft is likely to land relative to your own history — not compared to LinkedIn at large. It requires at least 50 posts to generate a prediction.
Does the model send my draft to a server?
No. Scoring runs entirely in your browser. Your draft text is never sent to Flux servers.
Explore (semantic search)
EdgeWhat is Explore?
Explore lets you search your post history by meaning — not just keywords. Type a topic or question and Flux surfaces past posts that match conceptually, even if they don't use the exact words you searched.
What's the difference between Hybrid, Text, and Semantic modes?
- Hybrid (default) — combines keyword and semantic matching. Best for most searches.
- Text — strict keyword match. Use when you remember a specific phrase.
- Semantic — pure meaning-based. Use when you only remember the topic.
MCP and API
What can I do with MCP access?
Connect your Flux data to Claude Desktop, Claude Code, or any MCP-compatible AI client. From there you can query your post history, score drafts, pull engagement briefs, and manage research streams in natural language. See MCP / API Access for setup instructions.
What is the Data API?
A read-only HTTP feed that pipes your Flux data into Google Sheets, Looker Studio, Power BI, or any tool that reads a URL. See Data API / BI Connectors.
Are there rate limits on MCP tools?
Yes. Rate limits are per-user, per-tool, per-hour, and set by your plan.
Multi-profile tracking
EdgeCan I track someone else's profile?
Yes. At Edge checkout, paste any public LinkedIn profile URL — a client's, a competitor's, or an executive's. Monitored profiles appear separately in the profile switcher from your own profiles.
Is each profile's data isolated?
Yes. Switching profiles resets the analytics engine completely. No data bleeds between profiles.
Weekly digest
When does the digest send?
Every Monday at 8:30 AM UTC, covering the previous Sunday-to-Saturday week.
What if I had no posts last week?
The digest still sends with encouragement and your carry-forward engagement context. It never arrives empty.
How do I unsubscribe?
Click Unsubscribe in any digest email. This pauses delivery for 4 weeks rather than permanently removing you.
Export
Is there a row limit on exports?
No. Every post Flux has scraped for your profile is included.
Does export respect the date filter?
No. The Export button always downloads your complete post history regardless of the date range selected on the dashboard.
What file formats are available?
CSV and JSONL (newline-delimited JSON). Both formats are available from the Export button in the dashboard header and from individual Collections.
