Can Claude Scrape LinkedIn?

Not on its own. Claude has no built-in LinkedIn access, its web browsing does not log in to LinkedIn, and asking the Claude app to scrape a profile usually gets a refusal. What people actually mean by this question is one of three things: driving a scraper from Claude Code, reusing their own logged-in session through an MCP server, or reading public LinkedIn data through a hosted service. Each has different limits and different account risk. Flux (fluxgraph.app) is the third kind: Claude reads public profiles and company pages through Flux's MCP server, and nothing runs in your LinkedIn account.

What you'll learn

  • What Claude sees on LinkedIn with no tools attached
  • The three ways people get LinkedIn data into Claude, and what each risks
  • What public LinkedIn data can and cannot tell you
  • The read-only route and what it costs

What Claude sees with no tools

Claude's web search can find a public LinkedIn URL, but LinkedIn gates most page content behind a login, so Claude gets a title and a sentence or two. It cannot read a profile's posts, reactions, or comments, and it cannot search LinkedIn. In the Claude app, a request to "scrape this LinkedIn profile" is typically declined. So the honest answer to the literal question is no.

The three ways people do it anyway

RouteWhat runs whereWhat it can readAccount risk
Claude Code plus a scraper (Apify actor, Playwright, a custom script)Your machine or the scraper's cloud; often your cookieWhatever the scraper can reachDepends on the scraper; session-based ones run as you
Open-source LinkedIn MCP server (logged-in session)Your machine, your LinkedIn cookieWhatever you can see when logged inAutomation under your account; LinkedIn restricts accounts for this
Hosted read-only MCP server (Flux)The provider's systems; no loginPublic profiles and company pagesNothing runs in your account

The first two work and are popular with developers. Both run under a LinkedIn account, which is why "will this get my account restricted?" is the most-asked question in the top Reddit thread about LinkedIn MCP servers, and why the answer there is "be careful, automation bans happen quickly."

What public LinkedIn data can tell you

Public data is more than most people assume. For any public profile or company page you can see the posts, the reaction and comment counts, reposts, the follower count over time, and the named people who reacted and commented. Aggregated across posts, that last item answers "who engages with this account?" by company, title, and industry, which is the research question behind most "scrape LinkedIn" requests.

It cannot tell you impressions, profile viewers, dwell time, or anything behind a login such as messages or connection lists. Those are private to the account owner, and no tool can read them for someone else.

The read-only route

Flux's LinkedIn MCP server is a hosted endpoint at https://www.fluxgraph.app/mcp. You add it to Claude as a connector, or to Claude Code and Cursor with a one-line config, and ask in plain language: "Pull the last 50 posts from this company page and tell me which formats beat their baseline." Flux reads public LinkedIn data through a third-party data provider, not through an official LinkedIn API, and it is not affiliated with or endorsed by LinkedIn. You never give it a LinkedIn password or cookie, it takes no actions on LinkedIn, and it cannot see private data.

A free preview covers up to 50 recent posts per public profile or company page, within a daily budget. Full post history, weekly refresh, trends over time, post search, and the engagement graph are on the Edge plan at $15 per month as of November 2026. Setup is in connecting Claude and other AI clients.

LinkedIn's User Agreement restricts automated data collection, so no third-party tool can promise LinkedIn's approval; decide whether this approach fits your own use. This is not legal advice.

FAQ

Can Claude Code scrape LinkedIn profiles?

It can drive a scraper you give it, such as an Apify actor or a Playwright script, and many guides show this. Claude is the operator, not the scraper. The scraper decides what is reachable and whose account the activity is attributed to, so read its auth method before you run it.

Will LinkedIn ban my account for using Claude with LinkedIn?

LinkedIn restricts accounts for automated activity that runs under them: session-based scrapers, extensions, and MCP servers that reuse your cookie. A hosted read-only server such as Flux never touches your account, so there is no account activity to restrict. The risk follows the connection method, not Claude.

Can Claude see who viewed my LinkedIn profile or post?

No. Profile viewers and impressions are private to the account owner inside LinkedIn, and no tool can read them for someone else, including Flux. What is public and readable is who reacted and commented, which aggregates across posts into a useful picture of who engages with an account.

Public-data precedent in the US (hiQ v. LinkedIn) favored reading public pages, but LinkedIn's User Agreement still restricts automated collection, and the terms differ by jurisdiction. Flux reads only public pages on its own systems and never accesses logged-in surfaces. This is not legal advice.
